■ Use my financial experience and expertise to work with Council to find ways to reduce the Town’s Budget, thereby reducing the tax burden faced by our property owners.
■ Continue working with the Council and volunteer groups to help maintain and protect our Beach Envrionment.
■ Investigate the formation of a Mayor's Steering Committee to implement a program similiar to Florida's "Homestead Provision", giving financial relief for taxes, utilities and fees to those Senior Citizens above a certain age, and to those under a certain amount of family income.
■ Work with State and County agencies to utilize available programs that increase the quality of life for our residents.
■ Work with Brunswick County and our surrounding municipalities to avoid duplication of services and provide available benefits to the people of the Town of Oak Island.
■ Attempt to ensure that our Code of Ordinances is enforced fully and equitably.
■ Work with our local businesses to help improve their ability to survive in the present economy.
■ Help to resolve outstanding issues with our Wastewater Project to reduce the total cost of the system and avoid further cost overruns and startup delays.
■ Ensure that Members of Council treat all citizens with full courtesy and respect.
■ Require full and complete disclosure of all matters considered by Council.
■ Carry out the duties of the Office of Mayor with the dignity and honesty the citizens deserve.
